Your data, plainly.

We collect only what it takes to make your account work and to play you a video. That’s it. We never sell your data. Honestly, we wouldn’t even know how.

EIZO isn’t a big company. It’s one guy trying to get by doing what he loves, and he’d rather tell you exactly what happens than hide it in legal text. So here’s all of it.

If you just watch

  • You don’t need an account. We don’t set a tracking cookie, and there are no ads.
  • The site loads nothing from anyone else: no analytics, no trackers, no “like” buttons from other companies, no outside fonts. Our pages are locked so they can’t load them even by mistake.
  • Videos stream from our storage provider (Cloudflare R2). Your browser fetches the file from there directly. That’s how the picture gets to you.
  • Our web server keeps a standard access log: your IP address and the page you asked for. We use it to stop attacks and fix problems, and for nothing else.
  • To stop spam and abuse, the site counts how often an address does things, like searching or commenting, for a few minutes at a time. It stores a scrambled version of the address, not the address itself, and the count expires on its own.

If you make an account

  • Username, email and password. Your password is stored scrambled (scrypt); nobody, including us, can read it. Your email is only for confirming it’s you and resetting your password.
  • Your public name. The display name and @handle you choose. Your sign-in username is never shown on Watch.
  • One cookie that keeps you signed in, for up to 8 hours. Your light or dark theme choice stays in your own browser.
  • What you make and do here: your projects, videos, comments, likes, the people you block, and anything you report. We keep it because it’s yours and the site needs it to work. Delete a comment and it’s gone, unless someone reported it: then moderators keep a copy of what was reported.
  • Renders on someone else’s GPU. If you render through the shared farm, the person whose GPU does the work can see what it rendered. Render on your own nodes and nobody else does.
  • Email goes out through our mail provider, only for the messages above.
  • A security log of important actions, like publishing a film, changing what’s public, or a moderator’s decision. That way nobody, us included, can quietly change things behind your back.

What we never do

  • Sell, rent or trade your data. To anyone. Ever.
  • Show you ads, or build a profile of you to target anything at you.
  • Read your private projects for fun. People only look when something is reported, or when you ask for help.
  • Share anything with anyone else, unless you connect it yourself (for example, publishing to your own YouTube channel) or the law makes us.
